Bill Sepich - National YMCA Coach of the Year

Each year, the National YMCA Swimming & Diving Organization selects an individual to honor as their Coach of the Year.  The committee considers the testaments of team and family members. While accomplishments in the pool are a part of the selection process, the more important aspects are how the coach integrates the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into the program; how the team helps its community; and how the coach believes in these young children and serves as a role model for them.  The banners hanging at our pool are well deserved but the joy and sense of accomplishment in a swimmer's face when they achieve something they didn't think was possible is what drives our coach and is why each and every member of the Hurricane Family is so very proud of this honor.

(10/28/09) Between firewall issues and software crashes, the website has been very static which is not a good thing with lots of ongoing events like Halloween, swim meets, and the Fightin' Phils.  Those problems have been mostly solved so expect to see more regular updates.

(10/2/09) Canes are always on the move, this time to the Dakotas.  After a long but fun summer swim season, Canes like to chill at the base of Mount Rushmore.  We are always looking for more shots of Canes all over the country and spanning the globe.  On your next trip, take a picture wearing your Canes sportswear down the Shore, in front of the Eiffel Tower, White House, Big Ben, Mount Fuji, Taj Majal, or at your favorite summer vacation spot, use your imagination for the Traveling CanesE-mail your photos to the webmaster.
